a) A Small Engineer Pyramid Ampule from Ridley Scott's 2012 sci-fi horror prequel, Prometheus. Serving as a prequel to his 1979 classic, Alien, the film follows the crew of the Prometheus as they travel to the distant moon, LV-223, in search of answers to the origins of life. b) Three different sizes of these memorable pieces were made and seen in the Ampule Chamber, this being the small size at 18” (46 cm) tall. ‘Raku’ pottery specialist Rob Sollis was recruited to craft the pivotal urns, taking inspiration from delicate Roman glass for its texture and finish. This particular version is created from hard biscuit foam with a resin skin. The ampule has alien text etched vertically into the gently curving body and has been finished in a metallic paint. c) This item exhibits some wear due to production use with some areas of the cream colored resin visible in areas where the paint has chipped, however the piece remains in overall very good condition.
